Turning talent into thriving businesses.

The FNB Master Makers Accelerator is a bold new initiative supporting South Africa’s next generation of standout creative entrepreneurs in the design, retail, and maker economy.

Blending the strategic energy of The Apprentice with the passion and flair of MasterChef, the programme provides working capital, expert mentorship, and a national platform – all backed by FNB’s commitment to helping small businesses start, run, and grow.

FNB Master Makers Accelerator Programme

Why it matters

Small creative businesses often brim with talent, but face real barriers: limited capital, production challenges, and a lack of access to wider markets. This programme offers the kind of support that turns creativity into commercially sustainable success - with targeted funding, national exposure, and expert mentorship.

Who can apply

Any maker participating in a KAMERS/Makers show in Stellenbosch, Pretoria or Sandton during the rest of 2025 is eligible. We’re looking for makers who are:

  • Passionate and purpose-driven

  • Ready to grow and scale

  • Open to mentorship and feedback

  • Eager to innovate and take creative risks

  • Committed to building a sustainable business

Applicants must submit a short business proposal outlining how the support will help them improve in one or more of the following:

  • Production quality and inventory

  • Marketing, packaging, or stand design

  • Diversifying into new products or categories

How it works

Each month during the KAMERS/Makers Spring/Summer season (September – November), three makers will be selected to join the accelerator. Each receives:

  • R20 000 in working capital, paid four weeks before their show

  • Tailored mentorship in business strategy, finance, production, and marketing

  • A professional video profile, showcasing their story and process across KAMERS/Makers and partner platforms

At each show, a judging panel will visit each stand and select one monthly winner based on creativity, growth, and audience engagement.

The Master Maker of 2025

The three monthly winners will compete for the title of Master Maker of 2025 at the St David’s show in Sandton in December. The final winner will receive:

  • R100 000 cash prize from the South African Future Trust

  • National recognition

  • Ongoing business development support
