SELECTION PROCESS
Application Period
Applications are accepted only during the open dates. No selections are made before applications close.
Round 1: Online Review
Our team reviews your online application and photographs. You will not receive any updates during this stage - this is normal.
Round 2: Viewing
After the first-round review, we will contact you:
If selected for Round 2, you will be invited to a viewing.
If not selected, you will receive an email notifying you.
Please apply only for shows you can fully commit to.
Not being selected does not imply anything negative about your product; it may simply be better suited to a different audience.
What You Need to Know Before Applying:
Local only: We only consider products designed and made in South Africa (or neighbouring countries). No direct imports are accepted.
Quality matters: We look for originality, craftsmanship, market fit, and capacity to meet demand.
Curation takes time: Every application is carefully reviewed, and we appreciate your patience.
One form per cycle: Each application window is treated as a new cycle – you’ll need to reapply annually to be considered.
SELECTION CRITERIA
We consider the following when reviewing applications:
Product Originality: Unique, original, innovative, and ideally first-to-market.
Local Production: Products must be South African in concept and creation. Imported components may be used, but design and hand-finishing must be done locally. Products from neighbouring African states may also be considered.
Market Fit: Each show has a unique visitor profile. We place products where they are best suited.
Quality: KAMERS/Makers is known for exceptional quality - your product should reflect this.
Availability & Exposure: We prioritise fresh brands and new products. While you may trade elsewhere, we avoid over-exposed items to ensure a unique visitor experience.
Community Impact: Environmental or employment-upliftment initiatives count in your favour.
Production Capacity: We assess whether you can produce and supply consistently.
BEFORE YOU APPLY
Please ensure the following before submitting your application:
We do not accept large commercial brands already established in the marketplace.
Do not apply if your products are direct imports.
You must personally attend the show, or appoint a representative fully knowledgeable about your brand—our visitors love to “meet the maker.”
We do not offer a shared barcode or general pay-point system; your stand must be staffed at all times
KAMERS/Makers provides an empty space with a plug point only (unless otherwise stated). You are responsible for building a stand that reflects your brand identity.
Apply only to shows you can realistically attend, considering travel, accommodation, courier costs, and logistics.
